Join our renewed and growing gym chain!
EasyFit has over 30 locations across Finland, from Helsinki to Rovaniemi and Vaasa to Joensuu. We'll help you carefully assess the local demand and competitive landscape. Each year, 1-4 new EasyFit gyms open up.
Did you know that our entrepreneurs typically run 1-4 EasyFit centers, with two being the average? Develop your business and grow with us safely. But hold on a moment – let's start with just one!
Our story began in Vaasa in 1987. We're a proudly Finnish chain. At EasyFit, you'll hear all sorts of Finnish dialects, like Savonian and Helsinki slang. We truly believe our Finnish roots bring extra value to our entrepreneurs, customers, and partners.
Our chain's unique workout concepts offer exciting experiences for customers, and for entrepreneurs, they mean higher average prices and a strong competitive edge. How about a futuristic SkillBox, a functional TeamBox, a leg workout haven like BootyBox, or a zen-inducing Body&Mind for your center? Virtual and online classes? Those are standard for us!
We'll do it together, with support from the chain management. You'll get initial training on things like our business model, operations, and marketing. We all get together regularly for things like quarterly regional meetings and annual entrepreneur days.
Becoming a gym entrepreneur isn't free, but let's sit down together and sort out the numbers. Setting up a gym costs between 120,000 and 150,000 €, and you can get started with about a 20,000–30,000 € self-financing share. Our EasyFit entrepreneurs are just regular people from all sorts of backgrounds.
Premises, equipment, software, access control, and so many other big and small details. Don't worry, we'll help you find suitable premises, with contract negotiations and renovations, and with other practical matters.
At our own centers, you get to practice the work hands-on. We develop the chain's operations by piloting new concepts and operating models in our own centers. This way, entrepreneurs and centers only get to use tools that have been proven to work.
We do a lot for you so that you and your team can shine and build a successful, unique EasyFit gym. Will you lose your entrepreneurial freedom? No way. Our entrepreneurs are truly their own bosses. In tricky global situations, the community also brings strength.
Gym operations have multiplied in the 21st century, as gym workouts and investing in well-being have gone from being a trend to a regular part of life. The fastest-growing customer group is young adults, for whom gym training has been a popular hobby their entire lives. 15% of Finns use gym services, and that number is still growing.
Being an entrepreneur always comes with some risk. But we reduce that risk with a strong brand, careful initial assessment for new centers, and deep knowledge of the industry.
Nope, you don't.
A background in business or sports gives you a good foundation for the gym business, and entrepreneurial experience or training is a big plus. EasyFit entrepreneurs have come from finance, physiotherapy, coaching, even coffee machine sales, and more.
As an EasyFit entrepreneur, you pay a franchise fee that's tied to your location's turnover. This means the fee goes up and down depending on how your business grows.
The EasyFit franchise fee is 8% of your turnover. Plus, entrepreneurs pay a fixed marketing fee of €500/month, which is used effectively for advertising and attracting new customers.
The success of the chain really depends on how well each individual franchisee does. Opening a fitness center usually costs around €120,000–€150,000, with your own investment being about €20,000–€30,000. The equipment is leased through agreements with our trusted suppliers.
It's true that as a franchisee, you'll follow the chain's business model. If that doesn't sound good to you, it might be worth looking into other ways of doing business. But even as a center entrepreneur, you still get to put your own stamp on things and make lots of decisions for your business. You'll manage your own employees, decide on the center's services, handle customer retention, local marketing, and so much more. The chain and the entrepreneurs work together to develop business operations, both on their own and as part of an operational group.
Yes! The number of franchise outlets in Finland is actually growing. You probably use services from franchise businesses surprisingly often without even realizing it. Just to name a few: Arnolds, Gigantti, Hertz, If, Instrumentarium, Kotipizza, McDonald’s, R-Kioski….
Why reinvent the wheel?
For almost two years, from March 2020 to spring 2022, COVID really hit the fitness industry hard. Getting new customers pretty much stopped, many members cancelled, customer numbers were restricted, and centers were even closed by AVI (Regional State Administrative Agency) decisions. EasyFit's customer count dropped by up to a quarter compared to before COVID. At its worst, EasyFit had 22 centers closed because of AVI regulations, but thankfully, not a single one closed down for good.
Throughout the pandemic, we really focused on clear communication and thorough guidelines, and we've gotten a lot of positive feedback for that. We didn't just stop during those uncertain times; instead, we actively sold memberships when centers were open, improved our operations, and even worked on a brand refresh. We're still growing, both with new centers opening and more customers joining our existing locations.
