Have you heard?

HYROX has quickly gained popularity around the world and is now taking the industry by storm in Finland as well. We are an official, licensed, and certified HYROX training club, and you’ll soon be among the first to experience what it’s all about!

What on earth is Hyrox?

HYROX is an innovative workout method that originated in Germany; it’s simple, effective, and incredibly addictive—and above all, it delivers results.

HYROX is a versatile guided workout with no technically challenging moves. You can also compete in the sport if you like, which adds a fun twist to your training!

This sport is very intense, as it challenges your endurance, strength, athletic ability, and mental toughness, providing a full-body workout. The best thing about HYROX, however, is that anyone—regardless of fitness level—can do the same workout!

HYROX isn't just any sport—it's fun and challenging, but also extremely rewarding, and anyone can easily join a class.

What are the workouts like, and how should I prepare?

HYROX is such a great sport precisely because it’s suitable for everyone. However, it’s still new in Finland, so now is the perfect time to give it a try while it’s still new and exciting for all of us. Let’s check it out together!

HYROX combines running, rowing, and functional strength exercises that are familiar to many gym-goers. The sport is really simple, but the classes are by no means always the same. Different rhythms, sequences, and movement variations make the workout varied and engaging. Endurance takes center stage, and everyone can adjust the intensity of their own workout. So, “running” can very well mean “walking” when you’re just starting out. Thanks to its versatility, this workout is suitable for both fans of functional training and endurance sports.

Guided workouts are generally 60 minutes long. All you need to bring to the class is light, comfortable clothing, indoor shoes, a water bottle, and a towel. Everything else is provided at the center.

An Introduction to Lesson Types

HYROX Foundation

This class combines cardio, strength training, and functional training. It strikes the right balance to get your heart rate up and challenge your endurance.

HYROX Power

Strength and power! This class focuses more on maximum performance and muscular endurance. It includes fewer cardio segments.

HYROX Complete

HYROX Complete combines running with functional strength exercises. The workout provides a well-rounded development of endurance, strength, and muscular endurance, and the exercises can be adapted to different fitness levels.

HYROX Mobility

Even a healthy body needs some maintenance. In this class, we’ll keep our heart rates low and focus on improving flexibility and physical function.

Could I participate in the Hyrox competition?

The HYROX competition consists of a precisely defined series of eight exercises (stations), all of which are preceded by a 1-kilometer run. The competition tests participants’ endurance, strength, and ability to transition quickly from one challenge to the next. The competition format is the same everywhere in the world.

You can compete as an individual, a pair, or a team in different divisions, which are organized by age group and fitness level. HYROX is suitable for athletes of all skill levels, and many consider it an excellent way to test both their endurance and strength.

What is the competition like?

The HYROX competition consists of a precisely defined series of eight exercises (stations), all of which are preceded by a 1-kilometer run. The competition tests participants’ endurance, strength, and ability to move quickly from one challenge to the next. The competition format is always the same around the world:

  1. 1 km Run
After each strength event, competitors run 1 km, for a total of 8 km of running throughout the competition.
  2. SkiErg 1 km
The first strength training session must be performed on a SkiErg machine, which simulates the motion of skiing.
  3. Sled Push (50 m)
Next up is the sled push, in which a heavy sled is pushed 50 meters as fast as possible.
  4. Sled Pull (50 m)
In the third leg, competitors pull a sled 50 meters using a rope, which requires strength and endurance.
  5. Burpee broad jumps (80 m)
Fourth on the list are burpee broad jumps, which combine the burpee movement with broad jumps, covering a total distance of 80 meters.
  6. Rowing machine (1 km)
In the fifth event, competitors row 1 km on a rowing machine, which requires technique and upper-body strength.
  7. Farmer’s Carry (200 m)
In the sixth leg, competitors carry heavy kettlebells in their hands and walk a total of 200 meters.
  8. Walking Lunges (100 m)
The seventh strength exercise is the walking lunge, which uses a weight bag as additional resistance.
